My Bay Area Style Salad

When I tell people I am from the San Francisco Bay Area, they make Berkeley jokes (my husband included) and I think the salad I made is quite representative of the perception of the Bay.  We eat sprouts and veggies and there is no California style without an avocado in it.  We like our greens and herbs and I'm no exception.
Here is my salad step by step:
Spicy delicious bed of organic arugula
Sprouts layered on top
Chopped shrooms (perhaps a salute to the good ole days of San Francisco's past), cucumbers, and avocado
California almonds, dried cranberries, raspberries, and pomegranate arils
I love this combination together and hope you'll give it a try!

Are there any distinct foods that describe where you live?  San Francisco definitely has Ghirardelhi chocolate, sourdough, and a crunchy, hippy personality that rocks my socks off!

Being from Louisiana, I can definitely relate! Gumbo, jamalaya, pralines, beignets...lol, nothing healthy like the Bay area, but delicious all the same!

Philly is known for its cheesesteaks, which I don't really go for, but I can't turn down a good Philly soft pretzel!!

Saskatchewan is known for bison (although most people don't eat it very often), beef, perogies, and berries - especially Saskatoon berries.

Hi Apple, I'm from WI so we're known for cheese, beer, and brats. YUM! Question: how do you keep your avacados from going brown--I assume you don't eat the whole thing at once.
