Being an Adult

If you ask my close friends or family members, I still have some difficulty behaving like an adult at the ripe age of 26.  Just ask my husband.  I have made my best attempt at it over the last weekend and couple of days that followed.

Adults stay in hotels for business trips and get a massive room without acting excited- you also get to leave the TV on all night to keep you company because nobody can tell you otherwise.
Adults get to have their work meetings in a beautiful hotel and can restrain themselves from laying on the comfortable furniture after being awake for 20 hours straight.
Adults flatten their unruly fro, put on some makeup, and do their best Jackie O. impression while trying to not be mistaken for Elle Woods.  They also don't get carded for drinks, which is a little disappointing.
Adults try to embrace a cultural landmark while going to new places.  Apparently they also don't get stuck in a hotel for the entire 48 hours of their meeting.  I tried- downtown Indianapolis:
Adults eat all their veggies- especially after a couple of weeks of veggie aversion for no particular reason and enjoy them.
Adults get to eat frozen yogurt for dinner because it's too hot out and that's the only thing that sounds good when the weather has cooled down to 95 degrees.

-Pomegranate, lime, and pear tart fro yo with blueberries, kiwi, blackberries, and a sprinke of almonds- the adult part of this meal.

Tell me what you have done to make you feel like an adult lately :)

You are so pretty! I love your outfit. Like seriously LOVE!

I recently called insurance companies to fill out claim forms because I visited a doctor that was "out of network." That made me feel old!

Getting carded rocks - it means you look young!!! It always makes my day when I get "I.D.'d" (as we call it in Saskatchewan).

I felt like an adult when ...

Never mind, I never feel like an adult :-)

Isn't it funny to think of being an adult sometimes? I got carded for a lottery ticket the other day though and almost jumped for joy.

I loved your post... that was so cute and fun!! Wanna know what makes me feel like an adult? Wearing mascara. When I wear mascara it must be for an important reason such as trying to impress my husband, going to turn in a job application, going for an interview, or going out to dinner with "couple" friends. I know it's something so little that a lot of people do everyday--but for me, it's an adult experience :)

Everytime I pay my rent I feel like an adult. And I feel sad that adults have to pay rent :).
