Wedding Recap- Part 1

Since I'm out of town and will likely not have time for regular posts, I wanted to share our wedding and the events leading up to it with ya'll.  It's been about a month and a half and if I don't do it now, I'll never get to it!  Plus- I'd also like to welcome my new readers- Hi Mom, Tania, and Alex!

One of my favorite events leading up to the wedding was having a dinner out with my bridesmaids at Metro Lafayette.  The restaurant is one of my favorites for the atmosphere and especially for the food.  Here is a description from the site:

Merging urban sophistication with a relaxed suburban attitude, Metro Lafayette is a stylish destination serving big city food. With the largest outdoor patio in the east bay, it's the perfect place for al fresco dining amongst mulberry trees, fragrant lavender and rosemary bushes and trellised vines.

The menu features an eclectic mix of California-French dishes with Asian and Mediterranean influences, including Duck Confit Spring Rolls with spicy lime dipping sauce; Dungeness Crabcakes; Spicy raw Ahi Tuna Poke with cucumber salad and black sesame rice crackers; Croque Monsieur with Niman ham and gruyere on country bread with Mornay sauce; Steak-Frites; and Seared Diver Scallops with truffled cauliflower, mushrooms & caramelized orange-walnut vinaigrette.

I say YES PLEASE to all of the above!  We decided to share some plates along with some great conversation.

*Cheese Plate of Wisconsin Marieke Gouda and d'Affinois with honey, apples, & walnuts
*Bruschetta with Frog Hollow Farms organic peaches, Sonoma goat cheese, caramelized onions & hazelnuts
*Garlic Rosemary Fries with Aioli
*Grilled Organic Asparagus

Everything was really fresh and had such unique flavors.  I loved the bruschetta and asparagus best!  I can't wait to come back here and try some of their new seasonal menu items.

Of course we couldn't have a girl's event without making me wear something glowing and sparkling:

Who doesn't need a pink feathery tiara?

We took a group picture and I am pretty sure I looked like I was just trying to stay awake- which was very true.  I still had so much to do and only had 3 more days with other events sprinkled in between!  In case you were wondering, I did have a traditional bachelorette the weekend before in which I swore I would never drink again, but that is another story for another blog!
